If you have time and talents you would like to share through mentoring or volunteering for MYP in Moorhead, Fargo, and West Fargo - or if you have ideas for building a healthy community and need to get them off the ground - please let us know!

Asset Champions are everyday heroes for our youth. With a bit of training, every person from every sector in our diverse community can learn how to build assets in their homes, neighborhoods, faith communities, schools and workplaces: everywhere, everyday.

Asset Builder Annual Giving

Those who donate to Metro Youth Partnership do not go unnoticed. We feel that you are in a league of your own and should be recognized as such. Annual membership levels are:

• Friend of Youth $50
• Youth Advocate $100
• Pacesetter $500
• Founder $1,000
• Lifetime Gift – Keeper of the Flame $2,500

As an Asset Builder you may designate gifts to a particular program or for the entire agency. Gifts may also be given in honor of living or in memory of special family and friends. All gifts are tax-deductible.

Metro Youth Partnership recognizes the generous support of our donors through MYP publications and publication on our website; however, requests of anonymity will be honored.

What Else Can I Do?

• Get to know the kids and parents in your neighborhood.
• Be a friend to a child or teenager.
• Encourage youth in your community by celebrating their accomplishments.
• Learn how you can build a healthy community through MYP asset-building training.
• Become a volunteer mentor.
• Provide financial assistance to MYP programs.
• Demonstrate that you value the people in your community.

Parents

• Take time to know your children.
• Make family time a weekly priority.
• Get to know your children’s friends and parents.
• Be genuine, honest, and apologize when you’ve been wrong.
• Be consistent, home rules apply to everyone.

Kids

• Be friendly and courteous to other kids, even if they are not a close friend.
• Volunteer in the community.
• Respect and acknowledge the differences in others.
• Welcome newcomers to your school and neighborhood.
• Communicate openly and honestly with your family members.

Community

• Establish, promote, and support positive activities.
• Provide safe neighborhoods, i.e. Block Clubs.
• Look at kids as an asset in the community.
• Offer your expertise as an opportunity for youth development.
• Say “hello” to kids.
